When moving about the battlefield with two or more teammates, a formation can be useful. Formations have many different uses, from providing cover in all directions to rapid movement. Each formation listed below has information about when it should be used. 4-Man Formations Frontal Cover The 4-man Frontal Cover formation consists of a heavy weapons expert, a rifleman, an assistant heavy weapons expert, and a group leader. The heavy weapons expert should be using a larger gun, such as the CPS 2700 or Monster X. He will be covering the front-left of the formation. The rifleman should be using a high-class rifle such as a XP 310 or a Max-D 6000. He will be covering the front right of the formation. The assistant heavy weapons expert should be using a weapon with a short pumping time. A good weapon for this job would be a CPS SplashZooka. His main job will be to protect the heavy weapons expert from fast-moving enemies with lighter weapons. He is also responsible for covering the left flank of the formation. The group leader can use any weapon, but a light rifle like a XP 310 that won't get in the way would be preferable. His job is to coordinate the group and lead them toward targets. He should also be covering the right flank of the formation. The advantage to this formation is the powerful cover to the front and the ability for all of the group members to cover each other in case of an emergency (out of water, weapon malfunction, etc). The disadvantage is that there is no cover behind the formation, short of the assistant heavy weapons expert and the group leader turning around and engaging the opposition. Use the Frontal Cover formation in a situation where you are expecting an attack from the front, but an attack from behind isn't likely.
